The Center provides for your care with

• a pre-operative phone call from our nursing staff answering questions and providing instruction prior to the day of surgery
• a consultation the day of surgery with your anesthesiologist and surgical team
• a post-operative phone call from our nursing staff to confirm your comfort and answer your concerns

The following will prepare you for your same day procedure. Please read carefully to ensure your surgery goes as planned. Failure to follow these steps could lead to the cancellation of your surgery.

• Please let us know if you have a cold/fever or a change in your condition before coming to the Center.
• Leave all valuables including jewelry, money and credit cards at home.
• Please do not wear make-up, nail polish, nail tips, or contacts (bring your glasses).
• Wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing.
• Please bring your insurance cards, crutches, cane or walker.
• Bring a list of your current medications.
• Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you to and from the Center.
• The night before surgery Do Not eat or drink past midnight unless otherwise instructed by your surgeon.
• Arrive on time.
• Following admission you will be asked to change into a hospital gown.
• You may have a family member stay with you in the pre-operative area.
• After you have spoken to your surgical team (surgeon, anesthesologist and nurses) we will take you to surgery.
• Your companion may choose to stay in our waiting area, or a staff member will be happy to make a telephone call when you are prepared to leave.
• Our discharge nurse will discuss with you your post-op instructions and give a written copy to you.
• If you are in need of additional assistance for home care your doctor can arrange for a licensed home care professional.
• The results of biopsies or culture may require a few days to be evaluated. Your doctor will discuss this with you when he/she receives the results.
